Don't Fall for "OSHA" Scam
Churches should be aware of a new scam: con artists posing as inspectors for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). "Scammers commonly pose as officials with [OSHA] and write up firms for not displaying required OSHA posters and other infractions," reported The Kiplinger Letter. "One such operation in Florida swindled unwitting small businesses out of $1.3 million." If an inspector drops by without an appointment or contacts you by email or phone, Kiplinger advised that you call your local OSHA office to see if the inspector is legitimate.
