In 1987, Richard Hammar and James Cobble envisioned a publishing partnership that would objectively inform pastors and church leaders across the country about key legal, tax, and risk management developments. The result was the Church Law & Tax Report newsletter started n 1988 and the Church Finance Today newsletter started in 1993.
As of June 2019, both print periodicals ceased publication bringing one era to a close. However, the vision—and the legacy built from that vision—remain firmly in place.
Over the years, ChurchLawAndTax.com has increasingly become a hub for all-things law, tax, finance, and risk management. It will now act as the complete information hub, with ongoing adjustments making it even more robust and timely.
This shift offers us the unprecedented ability to create and publish content in ways that you, as church leaders, want—at moments when you need it most. Best yet, the same legal and financial experts you’ve come to know and trust—including Richard Hammar and our editorial advisors—will continue creating this useful content just for you.
The ChurchLawAndTax.com site will be robust. It will be comprehensive. It will be cutting-edge. And it will maintain the objectivity and editorial neutrality our readers have come to expect and trust—the very hallmarks that have distinguished Church Law & Tax for nearly 40 years.
We look to the future with great anticipation regarding how we can help you fulfill your ministry’s mission in the 21st century. And we remain continually grateful to each of you for supporting our ministry throughout the past and present—as well as the years to come.
