A new study released last month by the Hartford Institute for Religion Research found 61 percent of religious leaders believe their congregations are “in excellent or good financial health” compared with 2020. 

But those leaders—representing more than 50 Christian denominations and other faith traditions—also noted overall giving hasn’t kept up with inflation.

Those inflationary pressures, combined with major regulatory changes for how overtime gets paid to certain exempt employees, has set the stage for an interesting budgeting season.
