STATE AND STATUTE: Montana, Code §§ 41-3-101 et seq. (originally enacted in 1974; statute language affecting what appears here most recently amended in 2013; all language verified here as of November of 2017)

WHAT IS REPORTABLE "ABUSE": Physical, sexual, or mental abuse or neglect by a parent or a "person responsible for a child's welfare" (includes the child's guardian, foster parent, an adult who resides in the same home as the child, a person providing care in a day-care or residential facility).
