STATE AND STATUTE: Rhode Island, Gen. Laws §§ 40-11-1 et seq. (originally enacted in 1976; statute language affecting what appears here most recently amended in 2016; all language verified here as of November of 2017)

WHAT IS REPORTABLE "ABUSE": Physical, sexual, or mental abuse by a person responsible for a child's welfare (includes the child's parent, guardian, foster parent, any staff person at a child day care facility). [40-11-3(a)]

MANDATORY REPORTERS: Any person. [40-11-3(a)]
